Sowing
This Project seeks a connection between life, which can awaken from apparent immobility, and death, which can only be a transition to a new beginning. Sculptures depicting seeds placed on pedestals evoke ambivalent feelings: their appearance can be intimidating, reflecting potentially dangerous or unpleasant aspects of nature. At the same time, their function is to preserve and grow the future plant. These “time capsules” are waiting, preserving the future plant, its life in a potential state. The three paintings on the wall echo the theme of nature. In their hazy environment, the viewer can see plants that vaguely remind us of the trees we are familiar with. The exposition evokes reflections on time, life and death, on the beauty and horror of nature, that even the tiniest seed coat contains a huge energy of life capable of reproduction and rebirth.
